The 172 is going to be great for us.  The bunks are what sold us on that model.

Capringl,

congrats on your 172 ! I am very interested in finding more about rpods and particularly, the 172 model.

How did it tow ? I assume you towed it from Ohio to Arizona ? What was your gas mileage ?

Yeah the 2000 will, but we may have to turn off the AC to use the microwave.

Will the generator run the air conditioner.  We live in Florida and nights can be very hot.
We are considering the Honda 2000.

Thanks

Hi Dixie
Ted and I bought our R-Poda from Country Campers as well.  Yizit and I live in Milwaukee area.  When we get R-Poda home I am calling yizit to come over.  If you want to come over too my phone is 414-525-0386 and we live in Greendale.  We are planning on picking her up on 3/28 and take her for a 1 night overnight if the weather is ok.  Linda and Ted

I just bought an R pod 171 from Country Campers too!  We had to buy a new car because our old car had 130000 miles.  We have to have 1000 miles on our new car before we can tow the camper so I will be driving a lot. We plan on picking it up on March 28th.  Smile  Linda

I understand that...Service wise I should be fine using any forest river dealer/service dept.
I just couldn't buy locally...but Couch's RV Nation took care of me so it all works out great.
I wasn't big on travelling to Ohio and the freezing cold (I don't care how hot it gets here...snow and cold are way worse!!) but we wanted this camper asap.

That's interesting.. I know the guy at RV Nation told me that they were built in the same factory as the surveyor - that does not mean you have limited service- I asked and ANY forest river dealer can do service work on the r-pod not just ones that sell it.

Yeah I tried to get a rpod in AZ but none of the forest river dealers carried them and nobody would order one for me. I guess the rpod is actually under the Surveyor series and the dealer has to be a FR Surveyor dealer in order for them to be able to order...at least that's what I got out of it.

We ordered a 171 for our Dealer Stoltzfus RV's in Adamstown Pa and paid pretty close to what you are seeing on Ebaymotors.com  The nice part is I do not need to travel so the few bucks more ($138) was well worth it.  We also added a few other options and picked our Fabric so the wife is happy.
