As the "Person Of Contact" for information about a followup Annual Roundup in 2011
I'm going to prepare is questionaire for the attendees of the 2010 Eastern Roundup.
If you couldn't make it, because of something we may be able to do better next year.
PLEASE Post your Comments Here.
Example for time.
The begining of June or 4th of July is when I can get off work.
Example for time.
Location and/Distance. If it was 200 miles more to the west or south or east or north. It would be in my driving range.
Example of Whatever
Just bad timing, but next year I would like to come if it is...during week, or within 1000 of city.....
I'll collect all the data and give you guys feed back.
Think about and post your information.

The only issue for us would be distance. Currently we're over 5hrs as the crow flies. Realisticly, if it were any farther we'd have to reconsider. Date just cant be anywhere around the end of May to June 10th lets say. Thats our FL voyage. |

Further south would be great. Hunting Island in South Carolina is awesome!

My thoughts about the 2011 event: -This year we are actually having an Eastern North America roundup because so many of our wonderful Canadian Friends are attending.
-Because of this, I think we need to be somewhere in the area that is half way between Canada and South Florida as far as latitude.
-It is much easier if the Roundup is held near a major interestate highway for ease of getting there.
-State and Federal parks are cheaper but private parks will set aside a block of sites and hold them for a time.
-It would be a good idea to keep in mind the interests of our members. Hiking, walking, boating, sightseeing, historical sites, etc.
-Personally, I love the ocean and would be delighted to be somewhere near the water.
-The 4th of July week would be wonderful if we could get the reservations early.
-Finally, no matter what time or place, we will be there if at all possible.

Well said Pepper!
While we would all like to have it in our own back yards, it is important to keep it accessible to as many podders as possible.
I would love to see the roundup include our west coast friends as well. Since somewhere in southern Indiana is the geographic center of the US, I would propose we hold it in that general vicinity. This will make it more difficult for some - like the people in Florida and us in New England. But wouldn't it be nice to have an all pod roundup?
