From the looks of things the Highland bike racks are made by Cequent Consumer Products who also owns the Reese product lines as well as as a few other product lines. Here is a link to their website and the Highland bike rack. If anyone wants to download the manual they can. Forest River might warranty damage done to trailer if you use this particular rack on a R-POD, but it does sound like that at least Cequent doesn't warranty their rack if you use it on a trailer. (that is unless they PDF is out of date) I think the key distiction is what forest river river will cover under warranty if you use the recomended bike rack vs what the manufacturer of the bike rack will cover if its used on a trailer. If someone has some time on their hand they could always call Cequent directly and ask them about the "DO NOT USE THIS BIKE CARRIER ON A TRAILER OR 5thWHEEL R.V." clause.

We have had our bike rack problem fixed by a local welder that told us we could safely use any bike rack that fits the adapter without fear of it breaking. Before and after photos have been added to the Bike Rack Problem thread.

I can't stop dreaming about June 15, 2013 when we get to permanently escape in our "Escape Pod" which is a 176T towed by a Chevy van with a 5.7L engine.
