Never been there (Huntsville) although we have been to Lake Livingston SP twice. I wonder what, if anything, makes Prairie Branch loop sold out and the same facilities at Coloneh loop still has 26 empty spaces during the Oct meet. We are reserved at the third loop, Raven Hill, which has full hook-ups and also has open spaces. Looking at the park map, all seem to face the water in one way or the other. Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe I didn't select the right buttons on the "Find me a spot" do-dad.

Billy Bob,
We will call a little bit closer to time to go there and talk to the rangers about getting us all in one area together. Like you I don't understand how they have things figured about where they put people. They also have a picnic pavilion so maybe we can gather there for the pot luck! |

I think the biggest draw for Prairie Branch is the proximity to the lake and swimming area. I liked several of the sites at Coloneh. I'm sure that Ain't Leo and I will be trying out sites at all of the areas. The place is really convenient for us, so we're going to make it our "go to" place during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. We've already told the grandkids they'll have to come to us for the holidays and I think they're excited about doing the camping thing during the season.
