The lens will pop off if you are careful and use a thin blade flat screwdriver. I seem to remember there are two small retaining nubs at the top and bottom. At least I was able to take mine apart that way.The issue I found on mine was that it was overheating and the bulb was black so I swapped the incandescent unit for a new white LED lamp unit which is much brighter than previous and does not generate as much heat.

Go LED, I went through the 1156 melt my lens experience with a bulb supplied by FR. Heck with the wattage adjustment. Led bulb will remedy all. Much better to update bulb than to worry about melting your lens.
