Greetings R Podders!
We are totally new to travel trailers but pretty seasoned campers....we live in rural Nova Scotia  on a beautiful 30 acre parcel of land and want to see much more of the Maritimes by Pod. Today we are about to head down to check out a brand new RPod 151 locate in the US. We are pretty sure it will be coming home with us.. but.. does anyone know about service in the Maritimes.. anywhere?..I kinda want to add the "tent" option to the Pod, but dont quite know how to go about buying one... we are sure excited!!  We will keep you posted about our new addition!

Sometimes they come with the dome. What part of the US are you going to ? Good luck, I'm sure it will be everything you want it to be. Welcome!

As far as service, look for Forest River dealers; the systems are common across models, so they'll know how to fix anything that needs fixing.  But remember: dealers are not obligated to work on trailers not purchased from their dealership.

As far as buying the r-dome, ask the salesman about it before you sit down to purchase.

thanks for the posts.. we are pretty sure that the Pod we are looking at doesnt come with the dome... wondered if it was just as easy to buy a separate zip dome kinda deal...
now...
as for the Forest River dealers... the Forest River website says that there are 2 in Nova Scotia... when I go to their websites... neither sell RV's at all...one is a car dealer.. and the other is not located in Nova Scotia...
hmmmm.... should this be a deal breaker for purchase???Unhappy

We purchased a R-POD 177 from Couch Rv, Ohio in May, 2010. There are quite a few Forest River dealers in the Atlantic provinces.  In NS, Alma Rv sales( New Glasgow) and NB, Patterson Rv Sales ( Moncton) sell R-Pods. We looked at both places but due to cost savings decided to purchase at Couch RV. Warrenty is only for a year and our r-pod is now stored for the winter and when we decide to use it again the warrenty would probably be expired. So this far north you don't really get a full year of camping out of you warrenty.

R-pods are great little travel trailers.

Perhaps we will meet at a maritime campground.

There is an R-pod dealer in Moncton, not far from the airport.

Welcome fellow R-Pod Maritimers!!

We bought our 171 this past July from Couch RV in Ohio, just like the other Maritimer R-Pod. (Kayak-Nut).  We have it all winterized now, but we certainly enjoyed it this summer and are already planning our trip to Newfoundland for next July.  We have not contacted any dealer here for any reason as yet, and hope things will be fine.  Welcome again and hope to see you on the roads this summer!   Hey, a Nova Scotia Round Up could be possible!!  Big smile

Taima,

We live in Canton, NY and own an R-pod 171, also. We love it and want to visit Halifax, Nova Scotia. Do you know of any campsites in that area with full hook ups ? Check on line for a forest River dealer for parts, you can also order parts from the manufacturer direct. The R-pod has been great for us. It is easy too tow, and cleaning is simple, and there is enough room for the basics. Very easy to take care of also. Enjoy !

Thanks for the info. and happy camping

Dockguy,  There are a couple of campsites very close to Halifax.  You can check out this website.  However; Nova Scotia has many great sites.  This site has the other areas in Nova Scotia as well.  Hope you come, I'm sure you will enjoy your trip.  You are so right about how easy ithe R-Pod is to tow and there is enough room for us, that's for sure!http://www.tonovascotia.com/campgrounds/halifax-dartmouth.html

Happy camping!
