We're thinking of spending next spring break - midApril- on the coast in SC area. We note Huntington Beach State Park. Anyone been there? Comments? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

We're spending a while in September this year at Hunting Island just up the road.

We camped at Huntington Beach State Park a couple of summers ago in the Pup (pre-pod). It is a nice camp ground.  It's south of the madness (traffic) of Myrtle Beach.  While the campground is next to the ocean, you don't actually see the ocean due to dunes/bushes.  Our site backed up to this area which was nice unless you got too close to the bushes, then the South Carolina State Air Force (mosquitos) attacked.  While there we checked out Myrtle Beach State Park, and we liked HB SP much better.  Rob

We went to Huntington Beach State Park in December of last year.  The sites were decent size and the beach was empty at that time of year.  We had a full hookup site and the walk to the beach wasn't far.  They had several nice trail and the house was interesting.
Here are a few pictures.

Great pictures Brin. Thanks, R&T. We really appreciate the effort! Looks like a nice place. I wonder how empty it will be in April.

April would be a good month to go.  Just try to avoid Spring Break week (typically the week before or after Easter Sunday) of the NC and SC public schools.  Rob
