R-Pods run on 30 amps.  I don't know of any small trailer that is going to run on 50 amps to be honest with you.  We've had the air conditioner and the convection oven running at one point last weekend and both were running fine.

You'll need a 50 amp male to 30 amp female dog bone connector, like this.

Other than an accidental power surge, the only electricity that comes through the campsite's power box and into your camper is the electricity that your camper tries to use. 50 amp service at the site means that it will allow 50 amps, but if your camper only tries to pull 30 amps, 30 amps is all you're going to get.

Given the choice, you want to hook up to 30 amp service because the 30 amp breaker at the hookup will offer you a little more protection if something goes wrong with the camper's electrical system (or in the case of an accidental power surge). But unless something is wrong with the electrical system in your camper, and assuming no power sureges, you should be okay hooking up to 50 amp.

Thanks for the replies. this park had some sites of both. Did not like the looks of the 50 amp service sites anyway.
