I hate that strap. I actually still have not been able to get it off and I know my tank is near empty Censored
As I don't want to go to dual tanks, what have others done to better secure the tank the unit comes with while allowing for ease of access to change?

Tusten Traveler,

What is it about the strap on your tank that makes it difficult to remove? Mine has a buckle (as is pictured in an earlier post in this thread) that can be undone and redone without a problem. Did your dealer install a different type of strap (from the one pictured)?

It was just on so tight that there was not enough "give" to get enough loose to disengage the strap from the buckle. It was exactly as pictured here but when we tried to lift up on the buckle, the "lip" broke off and all that is left is the teeth area. After bandaids and triple antibiotic to fingers, we still don't have it up and will need a needle nose pliers to get it off.

I thought the part in the middle was a "button" (push down) and not a "lever" (pull up)?

That might explain the breakage, but part of the problem, I believe, was that it got wet and shrank. Combination of human error and cheap part.

Can any dealer install a two tank system? I would like to go with a two 20lb tank setup, and if that doesn't prove to be enough, be able to use two 30lb tanks, without having to have the holder changed again. Also hoping a mod like this would not cost too much. Is it something FR might do on a custom order?

The people that filled my tank managed to undo the strap. I couldn't. then they turned the valve to that it could be filled without removing it.

My tank strap also broke at the buckle.  It looks like FR tends to use a cheap type of potted metal for the buckle on their battery straps. I had a similar buckle on my FR RV battery tray...it broke the second time I tried to remove the batteries.  I ended up putting a dual battery tray on my Pod, it now uses a metal threaded rod with a large metal 'thumbscrew'

  LP TANK MOUNT
After reading the posts and warranty info on the tank mount, I looked at mine.  It has the strap, but I noticed that when I pulled on the tank, it's bottom was not in contact with it's tray.  this allows the tank to vibrate and can cause the mount to fail.  I had some heavy rubber material and cut a piece 8 in square and put it under the tank.  Now the tank sits solid and doesn't shake.  I will see how this holds up.

A dual 20 setup cost me about $100 to include the 2nd tank. Ask FR, the worst the can say is no.
