how do you know you have slid your slide out in enough? I think I might be sliding it in too much and that might be causing problems.

Maybe you're not sliding it in enough. When we slide ours in, the right side touches the side of the trailer first, then the left side. We keep our finger on the close button until we hear the "click, click, click" ratcheting sound and then stop. If we wer to stop any sooner than that, the left side of our slide wouldn't be all the way in, maybe 1/2" to 1" out from the side of the trailer. -- Steve

On our 177, I can remove the panels down near the floor and see the slide's opening/closing mechanism. You might try doing that and having one person watch what's going on in there while the other person pushes the "close" button. It may just be something simple. But even if it's not, you may learn something that you can pass on to your dealer.

Go to the click-click-click, both in and out.
