We had so much fun last year that we are trying it again. Labor Day Weekend, Weston Bend State Park, just off of I-29, north of Kansas City, near Weston Missouri. Here is a link to our first outing: http://www.rpodnation.com/1st-annual-labor-day-mini-meet-weston-mo_topic2832.html

Weston Bend State Park is a quiet place on the Missouri River, just north of Kansas City. The campsites are all nice and mostly wooded, several are reservable in advance, and a few are first come- first served. The park has great hiking and biking, and good birding. The main advantage is that it is just on mile from the quaint town of Weston with great shops and restaurants, as well as a very short drive into Kansas City and all the holiday events that are going on there. We have reservations also.  We met everyone last year and such a great group of people.  Loved KCIrishfest and may try to go to Rennaisance Fair too.
