I have a 20 amp circuit in the barn where we store the pod. I can run the AC (which is 20 amps on my 182G), but if I turn on any other appliance, the breaker trips. So for me, 20 amps is 20 amps and no more.

I will add this and then say no more as the thread has wandered: the specs for my AC unit show the compressor and fan drawing a total of 15.9A, and there's a 20A breaker installed in the pod. I'm sure there's a difference in AC units across production runs, just like there's differences in microwaves and thermostats and shower heads and televisions and blah blah blah ...
So as they say in the computer world: RTFM (read the freakin' manual) and make sure your particular electrical service is adequate for your particular equipment so you don't burn your particular house down. If you have any doubts about your understanding of the situation, please, please, consult a licensed electrician and don't rely on your brother-in-law, the guy at Home Depot, me, or anyone else on this forum.
