So, I guess returning what you have and getting the right thing is out of the question? In my opinion, that's going to look pretty stupid no matter where you mount it, especially if you're not going to paint it.

see above picture. returned the Bear Creek Canvas awning and will go with this for now. Its actually really sturdy and adjustable/moveable enough to work well with the pod.

======================================== Do you have a link for this company or pics/specs on the awning. It just blows my mind that some company, at minimum Forest River, can't come up with an awning that allows for a "little" curvature at both ends and is supported by poles at the outer edges (like bag awnings) which are staked out in the ground. I just wish I was handier with awning material and sewing and had access to a heavy duty machine. In reality ...the slight curvature at both ends would make for excellent "run-off" during a rain. We own an R-Dome but had something similar with our former camper and are just really not interested in going through all that set up for a night or two. Plus, the "add-a-room" style tents (at least from our experience) are hot as heck and don't allow for adequate ventillation like an "open" awning does. Anyhow, just venting. Would like to see this Bear Creek design ... 'Slogger |

That's the method we use as well. I just wish someone made an easy-up that was tall enough to be placed over the door, so when you walk out of the door, you're already under the easy-up.
