John Appleseed Campground Ft Wayne

We are off for our third weekend this month at Johnny Appleseed campground in the city of Fort Wayne.  Park is operated by the city parks and recreation dept, nothing but good things to say about this place, clean, quiet, safe,$18 a night, water, electric  , dump station, cleanest restroom and laundry I've ever seen, all new.  Not the wilderness, but you'd never know it was in the city, on the banks of the St Joe just below power dam, decent fishin acording to the locals, I didn't fare too well but it takes awhile to learn a new hole.  City has extensive bike and walking trails, we rode bikes uptown, less than 3 mi and checked out the visitor's center to plan next trip, and lunch at Power's Hamburgers.  All info availabe on the www.  Brought a bucket of corn for the squirrels, don't think these city critters knew what it was.
