I have yet to hook up our rpod at the house. We are camping this weekend and wanted to get the fridge cool before leaving. I have the various adapters but don't exactly know what to do. The parts dept. where we bought our rpod said we could use a regular outdoor extension cord if we are only going to operate the fridge. Sound right?
Any help would be appreciated. Still somewhat of a newbie and don't want to mess anything up. :) |

I modified a regular 25' outdoor extension cord and put a 30 Amp NEMA L5-30R plug on the end that plugs into the camper. It will run the fridge, lights, etc, but will no trun the A/C. This extension cord allows me to keep the 30 cord packed in the camper( 1 less thing to pack up).

Greetings,
If your going to plug into your home. Take your power cord out from the coach. plug the female end to the coach. Plug the male end of the coach power cord into the adapter and then into either the extension cord or the house receptacle. Turn you ice box selector switch to 110 power,on the front of ice box you have to choose between gas,12v,or 110v. Hope this helps when you get ready to leave for your trip un plug from house power first before un plugging from coach. WWR

One of the best things any camper owner can do is to add hookup's at home.
Yes, just as WWRon said. If you start running 100's of feet of extension you will have problems.. but just 25-100 should be OK if you are using a good extension cord, and don't try to run the AC.. |

Thanks WWR,
You must have known I needed the step by step instructions. :) We are renters and didn't want to mess up the rpod or the landlords home:) We have been having a blast in that lil camper. We've only camped locally but we are ready to hopefully do the mountains or Florida this summer. Thanks so much again. |
