One, you need lighter bikes. Wink  Ours have a combined weight of 45 pounds.

Two, it would not add the full weight of 90 pounds to your tongue weight, The trailer frame is a lever in this case, and the mounting point distance from the axle would be used as a multiplier to determine exactly how it would affect the tongue weight.

For instance, in our case, we added a second battery, 60lbs or so, but our tongue weight only went up by about 40lbs. Still way under our vehicles max tongue weight. We also use a WDH which lowers our effective tongue weight even more.

We purchased the Arvika rack and we do not regret the expense. We purchased a 2" receiver adaptor for the rack so we can put it on the car or TV. That allows us to put the rack on the TV and take day trips with the bikes on the back. The rack on the Pod also provides a great place to store the bikes in the winter. We have friends that are avid bikers and they said that they have never seen a more user and bike friendly rack. Spring is coming!!
