Hello Podders! We are planning a July trip from Saskatchewan through North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario & back home. Just hubby and I. We've heard Wisconsin is terrific and are planning to stop at least a couple of nights around Wisconsin Dells (to take in the more tolerable waterslides and rides)and are hoping to tour a cheese production facility, but are looking for suggestions of other "must sees" in the area. For example, is Point Beach State Forest Park worth a stop? Any particular Foodie stops? Any public or private campgrounds you recommend to take in or avoid?   I gather from other posts that we should definitely make reservations for July. Comments?

Point Beach is pretty, right on Lake Michigan...you will not get a weekend reservation, so plan during the week.  The Dells is a Chicago tourist trap mess, but, it is great for what it is.  Door County is beautiful And worth the jaunt.  The south west part is rolling hills and many nice areas, gorgeous views, etc.  there are so many things to do and places to go in the state it is hard to select a few.  Each region different topography and specialties.  Of course...I am biased.

Enjoy...safe travels.
