During our last trip we discovered the charger/converter was not working. We reached this conclusion by clever deduction after the interior lights died. A quick check with my Trusty Fluke Meter confirmed this: zero output from the charger and batteries not only dead, but severely dead. The replacement board from the vaguely propaganda-y sounding World Friendship Company of China was obtained on Amazon. This is an original equipment board made by the same company (WFCO) that makes our power distribution panels.

The next photo shows the power distribution panel with the cover off. The dead part is in the bottom half of the box. The expertly drawn circles show the two screws that need to be removed. The entire charger/converter unit then slides out. The three arrow in the upper left show the AC connections, and the upper right arrows show the DC connections. Also, please make sure all power sources, both AC and DC, are disconnected before you go poking around in here or at some time during this whole project you will probably get an Unfriendly Shock.

Once you've got the unit out and on the floor, place the new one beside it and take your time, removing one connection at a time from the old unit and replacing it with the wire from the new unit. Photo below shows this process:

Once you've got the connections made, just slide the new unit in place and fasten it down with the two screws. The new charger/converter doesn't come with the aluminum heat shield you no doubt noticed in the second picture. Ha! You just scrolled back up to look, didn't you? Welcome back. There's no way to attach the heat shield from the old unit to the new one, so I guess the Happy Unicorn Company decided it wasn't important. So ppfffftt!

The Trusty Fluke Meter shows that the new charger/converter is now operational.
