A sad story about cables and locks. We were up on Steens Mountain in Oregon, feeling the need to get away from the campsite for a while and do some sightseeing by truck. Since the site was close to the road and yet the overall area was remote enough that someone could easily take the time to cut through the cable without attracting any attention from the occasional passing vehicle, we arrived at the brilliant decision that we would take the generators with us. And so we did just that, leaving the cable, with two locks, wrapped around a long section of fallen tree. When we came back from our drive, I set the generators back up for the evening, but I was being bitten so mercilessly by mosquitoes that I neglected to bring the cable and locks back into my setup. The next day, we departed the camp site, leaving the cable and locks wrapped around the tree. If you ever happen to find yourself in southeastern Oregon and decide to take a drive up Steens, hit me up... I'll send you the keys.

Both Lowes and Home Depot have the material to make your own cable, you can customize to fit. You can make it long enough to secure to your TT or TV. That being said, you may deter a thief, but chances are a cable will not wholly prevent theft.

Hope I am typing in correct place.
We just purchased 2 Yamaha 2000 watt inverter generators with parallel cord. We were told to protect them from being stolen with a cable. Can anyone recommend a cable long enough and strong enough for us? Brand and possibly where to purchase. Thank You
