I read your post before we left to P/U our new 171 at Couch's. You're right on. Towing with our LR3 was effortless. I did learn that I had to drive and shift to get better mileage, however. The LR3 was downshifting into 3rd a lot and I was able to stay mostly in 5th and 6th with an occasional drop into 4th on more severe grades uphill. At least that squeezed out 9.5 MPG at about 65.
Thanks.

I just got back from the Ford Dealer getting my 2007 F-150 XLT serviced. The sales guy tried his best to get me to look at the 2011.....I was sorely tempted, but only 41,000 miles on the '07 so I
was strong. (Plus I didn't want to have to sleep outside if I brought a new truck home ) Rob

Yup she'd kick me out of the pod, and that stuff about sync and DVD's was the same thing the salesman said. (But I was gonna let her have the '07, just to be fair)

You could get a bigger TT and THEN tell the BOSS that you NEED the new truck to handle the weight of the new TT. That way it'll be a win-win (stay in the new TT for a night) situation...LOL

We tow our 176 with a 2009 Ford Flex. On our trip this summer to the midwest we managed 11 mpg. There were no major struggles in the hills of Tennessee and Kentucky.
