I’m really trying to draw some interest for a West Coast R-Pod Round-Up this August (See the first page) and it would be nice if others who may not be able to attend spread the word on other websites that you might visit where R-Podders might be. I have other plans for next year and will not be able to do this, so next year someone else will have to take the lead. I started this in January 2010 and so far we only have 3 who have said that they will be there; it would be nice if we could get at least 6 but we’ll do it this year regardless. Mdhaen, one of the 3 who are coming, is coming all the way from Arizona so it would be nice if others in California and Washington State could also attend? Happy Trails Podders’ |

In a last ditch effort to revive this post I thought I’d share a private conversation that I have been having with mdhaem (Mike) who is going to drive more than 1,000 miles from Arizona to meet up in Oregon next month. As you can tell from the conversation I am a little disappointed that others could not attend but I will not let that spoil what could be a fun trip and get together. Subject: RE: Roundup.... Group: Senior Member I am retired also and love to do road trips; in fact I'm seriously considering going full-time RVing; initially in my pod and then maybe in a larger trailer. I think that you are correct about the schedule of those who are working. I guess I'm disappointed because there were a lot of people who attended the east coast r-pod roundup and I thought maybe we'd have a few more here on the west coast. Like I said I put this notice up some 6-months ago. Oh well I just have to let go of it and go with what is and not what I thought it was going to be. I am looking forward to meeting you in Oregon; I'm bringing my mountain bike with me and I also have a 8 ft. in diameter blow-up swimming pool which is about 3 ft. deep that I deflate and store in my pod. I usually set it up in a second screen room which I have. We can do some barbecue, shrimp, etc., and also sit in the swimming pool, have a beer, kool aid, etc., and explore the area. The weather should be good and I am looking forward to it. That Twitter account sounds like a great idea; you're welcome to invite others over at Twitter if you want. Larry -- Previous Private Message -- By the way I set up an @rpod list on twitter. Through this list we can share happenings with our fellow R-Pao owners. See you in Oregon... Mike Right now we only have two definite attendees, you and I, who will be in Oregon for the roundup this August, and possible a third; Kenn, who has told me that due to his being in the army he could not make any definite committment. So there is just 2 right now and maybe 3, and frankly I am disappointed and disgusted, because as I've said, I started asking people back in January 2010 and it just seems like there is no interest; everyone wants it close to their home. I will be there in August but I am not going to take on this task next year as lead person for any roundup. I don't know what else to do to get people together here on the west coast with their r-pod? Larry Has anyone else signed up to the Oregon roundup or are we still at three? Its getting close and we a getting anxious to head out. The R-Pod has been sitting to long... almost two weeks now. Mike Mike Previous Private Message -- Hey Mike, Right now we have three, Kenn, yourself, and me, but I've been trying to generate interest since last January. I do not have a facebook, UTUBE, or Twitter account but there might be some podders who go there that are not members over here. It would be nice to get at least a half dozen or so to come but I guess we'll just have to settle for what we get. See ya in Oregon. Larry |

Would have loved to have come, but unfortunatly its the worse possible weekend of the entire summer. Huge reunion that weekend and then have to fly to D.C. the following week.

Rounds-Ups are not an easy thing. The group that handled the '10 ERU did an excellent job, and it seemed that Podders started to reserve sites at a rapid pace. There were a hand-full of cancels closer to the date, but that happens.
We knew we would miss many more than we could attend since we both work full-time still. Summer is such a busy season. So we went with a camp resort. Now Camping is as easy as an hour away.
Perhaps down the road we will have more time to tow.
The ERU was right in the middle of most Podders locations at that time.
I expect logistics to change sooner than later.

Yes Kenn, you lose everything; that is what is stated on the website when you register. There are absolutely no refunds for any reason whatsoever, and I don’t think that any Oregon State Parks give refunds so maybe you ought to wait until the last minute to register. I did find some more RV’ers that will attend this roundup at two different websites; Eons.com RVing group and Yahoo RVing Group, although some of them may not be R-Pod owners; still I invited them to a get together. I’m finished brooding about this whatever is going to come together with this roundup will come together.
