Do not trust the water connection at a camp site to be clean!

More times than I care to remember I have seen people clean out their drain hose by shoving it onto the water hookup spigot at the campsite.  ( insert barf here)  I have seen people let their dog raise it's leg and pee on them also.  Are you feeling sick yet? I hope so!  Maybe you won't forget this.  Stuff like this happens by people that just don't use their head.  Not bad people, they just don't know any better.

The solution to the problem is very simple.  Get a spray bottle and fill it with a good strong solution of bleach water.  The FIRST thing you do after you back into your site is get that bottle and spray the heck out of the connection.  Let it set while you do all your other chores.  Then hook up the water hose.  That gives the bleach plenty of time to do it's thing.

Another tip:  when storing your water hose always drain out all the water, then hook the 2 ends together.  No water leakage and no dirt or bugs can get into your hose.
