Hey there everyone, this is my first time starting a new topic, so if I do something wrong, just let me know. We brought our pod home on Dec 30, 2009. Since then the weather in NC has been terrible on a good day. We've had flooding, snow, ice, more snow, more snow, plenty of rain, and just yucky cold weather. Today it is sunny outside, and almost 60 degrees. WOO HOOO. Since we haven't been camping yet, I have been doing a few mods, and I also have some pictures too.
I want to thank everyone in advance for posting their mods, so I could cheerfully copy them! I bought the material to make an extended drain for the fresh water tank. I haven't done that mod yet, but when I get it done, I will be sure to post it.
Also the first camping trip is in two weeks!!!! Can't wait. Rob
Here is the pod in it's pod-port on a sunny day!!! This is awesome. We are still working on the name for our pod though.
Finshed looming the wires to the battery. I know this is a very very minor mod, but it just drove me bonkers because the wire loom stopped about a foot short of the battery box.
Lucked into some chrome towel rods on sell at Lowes for $13.00 so had to have them for the shower. PS once you drill that FIRST hole in the side of the camper, the rest are easy!
Made curtains for the window on the sofa slide out.
Lighting for the Rear Storage Area
Added this railing over the Fridge/Microwave cabinet
Extra exhaust fan seen from the outside
Added a 12Volt DC Exhaust Fan for the fridge. This I had put on my pop-up and it really made a difference. I know the fridge in the r-pod comes with fans and even a baffle plate, but since I had this I wanted to got ahead and install it.
Made Curtains for the bed windows. (Hate Mini blinds)
A hanging clothes rod in the back over the bed, and also made a curtain for the weird box the TV hangs on.
12 volt DC outlet in the Forward Storage Area
Put carpet in the pod

How did you make the curtains? I agree with you on the miniblinds (and the weather). I just need to decide how to attach curtains to the valance. Did you need blackout material? |

NICE! I sure would appreciate details on the DC outlet, the rear compartment light and the hanging rods over the rear queen...
TIA!

Brin -- The curtains are made from a King Size brown sheet from Walmart. With them closed, you cannot see inside the Pod from the outside. (Windows are tinted too remember.) I used spring rods to hang the curtains from inside the valances.
BigBit -- The outlet came from Adavance Auto (any Auto Zone, Advance, etc. type store should have them.) The Inverter on my camper had two unused 12Vdc postions. I used one of the open postions for the 12Vdc outlet, and one for the compartment lights. All you have to do to energize the open postions is to put in the correct size fuse. The hanging rod came from Lowes, in the closet organizer section. It was an adjustable up to 48 inches. It came with the mounting hardware you need too. Rob

I really like what you have done with your 175. Everything looks neat and dresses up your pod. There is nothing like filling the time until we can go camping like making modifications to improve our Pods.
Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. |

VERY nice mods and great pictures! I love the rod from the TV cabinet to the wall as a place to add potential to "dead space". Thanks for sharing!

Own a 175 here also and enjoy seeing the mods. Keep posting them. This is my first trailer and very unsure of what needs done to meet my needs. Going on 2 week vacation in May, i'm sure i'll figure it out then.
Thanks!!!!
