That's what's nice about the R-pod it's small enough to be accecpted into state and national parks. Many of their sites were made when all the trailers were small years ago. The next time you go to Wally World get their Rand McNally map that shows all the locations of their stores especially the super stores that are open 24 hours. We parked under a street light so we didn't have to use our battery. If you are a member of the Elks, etc. many of them have 3 point hook-ups. Many rest areas are now putting in dump stations. Many casinos have spots for us too. If you are senior then try to get a card that gives you half price deals at Federal Parks run by the Corp of Engineers. I've had my card for so long and haven't used it that I really don't know if they still give deals.
We went to Vegas and the Silver Palace let us put our trailer in their lot for free while we rented a room for a couple days. Another time we went to Vegas and it was so hot I thought the a/c would give up. That's when I covered my windows with foil and the temp inside fell 10 degrees. When I would take off for a destination I would freeze a large container of water with a spigot. It would keep my frige cool while traveling without using the battery or gas and give us cold drink water. I don't know if DH still has the recipe. One way to clean the black tank is a mixture of ammonia and vinegar and let it rock while you're driving. One lady I met while caravaning with the airstreamers would fill a large container with soap and water and put her clothes in it and let it rock while driving. I can't wait til my son gets his 172, on order, I convinced him that R-pod is a beautiful trailer, very well laid out, I'd like to know who designed it. I asked him to ask his salesman if he can get a runner on the other side of the trailer also. You never know when you'll get to a site where the R-dome would fit better on the other side. If he didn't get the R-pod , I would . I owned 5 Airstreams and the last was an 05 Bambi and trust me the R-pod has it beat. I still own a '70 but that one is from the era where their rep was made and sorry to say things change and not always for the best. |
