I have seen a lot of posts about tow vehicle choices for the R-Pods. I always tell people that I know are looking for a camper/truck choice that many vehicles can technically pull the camper, so the rv dealer is telling the truth. But then there is the factor of will you enjoy towing with the tow vehicle you have. On my first trip last summer, we started with a 1999 Expedition with the 4.6L. Unfortunately, I had never towed with it before and didn't know the trans was going out. Then I bought a 2004 Expedition with the 5.4L. What's my point? It would have been a long ride with the 4.6L and not very enjoyable one at that. When I hitched up to the 5.4, it was a much nicer feeling knowing the power is there and you are not maxed out all the time just trying to keep up with traffic.

Many different thoughts on tow vehicles; all good stuff. What I was shocked to find out; was the "real" weight of my 172. I took it to work one day and put it on the scales; I was shocked to find out that it weighs almost 355 lbs. more that Forest River claims. I talked to my dealer about it; he says they weigh it without the propane tank, microwave, reefer, and tv and a/c.  Thats something to consider. That could make the difference in tow vehicles.
