Today I managed to get myself blackballed from the friendliest forum on the net. Went down and plunked my down payment on a MPG 186, which is the same floor-plan as the Pod 176, except reversed. Looked at the Pod, MPG, Visa and the Casita. After much shopping, poking, prodding and door slamming we decided to go with the MPG. Since it is so similar to the Pod, many of the improvements and mods shared here will apply. I hereby withdraw my posting, but plan on reading every day. The valuable sharing of knowledge and just plain Ole good folks will keep me checking in. Thanks to all. The Rains Gang., Humble TX.

You are welcome here! Feel free to continue to post. We sold our Pod and bought something bigger because it fit the needs of our family situation...and, we are still here. Just try getting rid of us!
Pictures!!! I wanna see pictures of your unit as well as pictures of mods! Mods for one trailer can be used in many different brands...and, like you said, the MPG is an R-Pod copy...

Thank you Ms. Cindy. I read about your trade up to a larger unit. You guys earned your wings, so to speak, by being a prior Pod owner. I am also a member of the MPG Forum, what little of it there is, and have referred a few members to read this forum for answers to their TV, WDH, mods and other general questions. A couple stated that they had visited the site for answers to common themes. There is no doubt in my military mind that when it comes to a wealth of knowledge and genuine love of their travel trailers, R-Pod Nation is leading the charge. I sat on the fence for quit a bit and the clearance light issue sort of tipped the scales. That plus I have dealer very close to me, whom I hope to never have to visit again after delivery.

I spoke to the regional manager by phone (he gave me his cell number) for OK, TX and several other states. Advised me, that in my travels, if I ever had a problem to call him for the nearest dealer and he would also inform them I was on the way. That may or may not do any good. Couch's seems to have the best dealer/customer relations of anyone I know. I would also like to thank everyone for the warm welcome. I will share my meager knowledge and best of all, learn from others.

I wouldn't think an MPG would get you blackballed, my wife and I looked at them online, but we didn't have a dealer nearly close enough to us to even consider buying one. What counts is that you embraced the teardrop camper lifestyle. I love the Paw Pod, but I love teardrops in general- the R-Pod's, MPG's, even the T@b's! I followed a couple on the road for quite some time while returning from our first big pod trek that built his own mini teardrop trailer from scratch! Ideally, we can all learn from each others experiences. Good luck with the MPG!
