If it is worth anything, I purchased a 20x30 blue poly tarp tht covered everything down to the windows on my 177. I just dewinterized it and everything looks fine as far as the weather and cold is concerned. That cost me $25.

I bought one the and we pay a lot more than $300 here in Canada for the covers
But to me It was worth it We have harsh winters up here and protecting my investment is worth a few hundred dollars to me anyway

I am in the process now of building a pod-port with 4x4s and 2x6 framing at the top. I won't put sides on it and may start with tarps on top. It's a little shaky still, so I'm trying to decide how to brace it effectively. For $200 so far, I expect it to work and be temporary in nature so as not to need a permit.

I have a factory cover for sale. I bought it with the camper two years ago but we've never used it. I'll sell it for $300, shipping included.

On the advice of our dealer we chose not to get a cover as the dealer has seen problems with units covered up for long periods developing mold due to poor circulation. I decided to instead go with a 10 x 20 canopy from Costco for 194.00 and will be putting it up in the next week.

Hey, my husband is in Florida right now visiting our Pod (and my father-in-law). Our Pod sits outside, no cover, and the report is our decals are just fine and dandy. Ready to roll in June!!
We will be able to put the pod in our barn next winter if we like but it's been sitting uncovered a long time and our dealer even told us not to bother. |

Fortunately for me I purchased my cover from another Podder at a good price. Because I preposition Podterfly for summer camping (storage area instead of at home), I thought it would be a good idea to cover between trips. Which has worked for me so far, the bonus during the time when she is at home the cover gets the bird sh*t not the podterfly (also noticed after the last rain the sh*t washed off the cover..YIPPEE).
So is it worth $400 not to have to get up on the roof and clean sap /sh*t off the pod everytime you take her out is a personal decision. The about of extra labor to do that over the life of your pod say five years. 2 hours of cleaning times 6 times a year times 5 years = 60 hours of labor and lest say you make $10 a hour, so the cost in labor is $600. Savings of $200 in YOUR labor cost.
BUT IT'S A PERSONAL DECISION, AND THE PODS ARE MEANT TO BE OUT IN THE WEATHER, this is why i have mine.

Ok, after the check up on our Pod I can tell you it's fine with no cover. Sits in the sun and rain year round but not under a tree. No sap. Plus we don't want a branch to fall on it. It's due for a good cleaning but it's aired out now at least.

Our Pod was covered this past winter, and there were no problems when we uncovered it. I was a little worried about mold, but none was found. We did put two Damp Rid containers inside the Pod.
