This would be great in the R-POD!

Tankless water heaters are becoming the accepted way to heat your water in today’s new home construction market.

Though they aren’t standard equipment on most RVs at this point, they are available for the RV market  too.

With propane burners and the sensors powered by 12V DC, a RV Tankless Water Heater will work exactly like the one you may have at home. As soon as you open a faucet and water flow is sensed, the burner ignites.  In a matter of a second or so, hot water is coming out of the faucet.

This makes good sense.  I know propane dealers sell the tankless heaters to be used with their propane tanks for those who don't have natural gas in their neighborhood.

I've installed a tankless heater in my home and will never go back to conventional heating.  I'm excited about the prospect of using something like this on the r pod.

Thank for posting this. I really like the idea of tankless. Now to try and justify the cost. ;-)

But you do need to balance cost versus outcome.  I never plan on having a family of six shower sequentially in my Pod, I am not going to run a dish-washer in it, nor do loads of laundry.
I may replace my Pod's LCD TV but I certainly am not going to put a 65 inch plasma 3D screen in it!
Some relatives of mine spent over $50,000 replacing their nearly new house's all-electric heating system with a natural-gas forced air furnace, because they didn't like the monthly electric bill.  I calculated that it would take them more than 20 years to make back their investment...(and they sold that home after living in it for only 5 years!).
If a tank-less heater would cost not much  more than the 6-gallon water heater and the water heater needed to be replaced...I maybe would contemplate getting a tank-less heater.
How many LP tank fills would you have to have to justify the LP savings versus the cost of the new tank-less heater?

Our family of four uses the 6 gallons fairly quickly. We just wait about 20 mins between dishes and showers or showers between adults.

If you have zoning and stuff on a 30,000 square feet home, then it wouldn't be far-fetched Wink

The house was originally constructed for resistance electrical heating.  When the natural gas forced air system was installed...all of the air ducts had to be installed also.  Sheet rock had to be ripped out,
floor layments had to be cut out within walls, section of walls through three levels had to be gutted.
Yikes! If it had been me, I would have sold and bought a different house.

Here in Costa Rica we have electric showers.  The water heats as it comes out the spout.  Is it like that?  Otherwise called "on demand" water heater or something else entirely?
In the end there's just a song comes cryin up the night
