The fan helps quite a bit with moisture. Run the fan about 20 mins after each shower and you should be fine. Or you can always trade for a newer (dryer) trailer every time you take a shower.

Since I primitive camp only(in the woods) I had the dealer install an outdoor shower.(cost $200) I rigged up a shower enclosure out of 3/4" pvc pipe and a $3 shower curtain from Wally World. At 6'3" and 220 lbs, the r-pod shower was a bit small. However, my 2 grandsons love it(9 and11).

Those window squeeges work fantastic. Only takes a minute to dry down the shower - no muss - no fuss. Elidh, THANK YOU and your husband for serving our country! Our son was in Army (Kuwait and Afghanistan until this spring. Now working for private contractor doing same work in Afghanistan.

I thought this would be an issue for us also, but it really isn't a big deal. After we've both showered I leave the shower head hang to let it drip out and then just wipe down the toilet seat and leave the bath towel in the bottom area. By bed time it's dry and ready for nighttime use again.

+1 on the use of a squeegee.
After doing the walls, we use it on the toilet cover and then the floor to direct most of the water into the drain. We also leave the fan on low if we're on hookups as it also help air out the pod. We are thinking about getting one of those rubber mats for the shower floor but instead of using it during the shower, we were thinking of using it to keep out feet above a slightly damp floor when using the toilet. Not sure if that'll work. We otherwise remove our socks when we go to the loo.

We use this stuff: The pieces lock together and you can cut them to shape with scissors. The rpod bath is so small, it only took 4 (I think) tiles to do the job. You never step onto a wet surface and any dirt, sand, etc, that happens to be on your shoes/feet just falls through the grids. When it's time to clean underneath, just pull out the tiles, clean, and throw them back in. -- Steve

Thanks Ratdog! What color did you get? The beige looks like it would match the pod shower.

We got gray which worked out pretty well because you really don't notice much of the dirt and debris that falls through. We camp at KOA's so we use their bath houses and rarely use our bath as a shower so the debris doesn't get washed down the drain like it would if you used it regularly as a shower. Without the mat, we'd have to clean the bathroom floor every day or two. With the mat, we don't have to clean the floor until we get back home.
BTW, the link I gave was just an example to show you the product. I can't remember where I bought the tiles (it may have been Amazon). I think boating stores may carry them, too. -- Steve

Couldn't resist getting in. I am claustrophobic a bit, but okay for the brief time in it, I leave the vent open and look out. I am 240 lbs. and sometimes when I turn around in shower, my big rear turns one of the taps for a bit of excitement. I never got lost in there either. It is handy to have it, and we both like it. Definitely no room for two for conserving water.

I bought this floor mat from Lowes:
http://low.es/xBs9vu I cut a piece out and placed that into the shower. The part left over was pretty large, but irregularly shaped. I cut the irregular part off and now use the rest of it as a mat outside of the Pod. In the shower the small piece lets the water drain and makes for a quicker dry time on the floor. The part used outside of the door large and heavy enough so that the wind won't blow it away like it did with a lighter doormat. |
