Nancy and I just got back from Ludington State Park in Ludington, Mi. We spent five days there with friends. This is a great park. It's sometimes hard to get a space so advance reservations are a must. Sites 21,22, 23 & 24 are drive throughs and are near Lake Michigan. The high dunes keep the wind down at these sites. The deer walk through the campsites at dusk, unafraid of campers. There's a mile and half walk or bike ride to the Ludington Lighthouse, a historical shipwreck and salmon and steelhead fishing. In fact, early Oct. starts the salmon run on the Big Sable River all the way to the dam at Hamlin Lake. Lots of bike and hiking trails and a fish cleaning station. There are three campgrounds and a well run camp store with everything a camper needs. The Pines campground is near the lake and the other two are on the interior. The fall is a good time here as the leaves are turning and the park is beautiful. Highly recommended........cityfox
