Congratulations and welcome to the forum! We pick up up our 174 at Couch's on August 14th and can't wait. We are also first time RV'ers but we rented one for a weekend before buying and loved it. So light, easy yet comfortable.
You will find TONS of tips and suggestions as you read through all of the back entrys on this forum.

Welcome to the forum.  Everyone is different when it comes to the "bare essentials".  We keep it very simple...2 plates, 2 cups, couple of frying pans etc.  We also take paper products and plastic ware for easy clean up.  Tinfoil a must.  In place of a coffee pot we bought a single cup drip that takes little space.  Space is precious and there are many things out there if you look.  Enjoy your new Pod.
