Basically there are two places on the island to camp.  A motorcoach only resort, and another RV resort.  We've stayed at the RV resort.  It is on the Intercoastal Waterway.  Beach access on the Island is fairly limited due to the Timeshare "Plantations."  While the DW really likes HHI, it's not on my list of favorite places to go, camping or otherwise.

Thank you for the info on Hilton Head Island.  Our oldest daughter plays tennis on her college team and will be down there for 2 wks and we thought about taking the rv to watch her play for a couple days.  Maybe we will just have to search out a hotel Unhappy

You might want to try Hunting Island State Park outside of Beaufort, SC.  Really nice, much cheaper than HHI, although you need to be reserving a site now!  It's 30 or so miles from HHI.  (Don't hold me to that figure.)  If you have never been to HHI here's a little math for you.  HHI = $$$$. Haha.  Rob

Thanks for the tip. No we have never been to HHI, never wanted to until now that our oldest is playing college tennis. We always fly right through SC on down to Florida.

South Carolina is a beautiful state. Very pretty vegetation and the people are very friendly. So friendly that we go their often and plan to move their in the next year. Teh climate is perfect and the cost of living is good also. njoy your time in the Plametto State, I know as we do !
