I have another question... I am sure someone has mounted a flat screen TV wall mount on their R-pod. The place to mount one on our 178 is to the left as your walking in the door. I just wondered if that interfered with getting in the R-pod by sticking out too far when not in use. Comments anyone?

In our 178' I just put in a 19 inch Ensign TV/DVD combo from Best Buy. Mounted it on a swing out arm that also got at Best Buy.  Pushed back the TV has plenty of hiding room. And swung out it is great for sitting at the table and watching a movie or something. We will probably rarely use it since we will be mostly dry camping but what the hell...

I mounted the TV on the swing out arm so I can just lift the TV off the tube and place on the bed for transport. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I worry about the TV bouncing the screws loose as we drive with the weight of the TV on it.

Also the CATV outlet there uses the TV antenna amplifier for picking up local TV stations.

We have a New 178 we picked up in late July. We elected to go with a larger 24" LED TV (19” was a bit small for our aging eyes) and mounted it with a swing arm and tilt mount I picked up on Amazon...wanted the lightest one I could find.  As I recall up to a 20” LED would fit into the opening. The 24" TV is a little bigger than the opening so it overlaps the frame about an inch on each side.  When you mount the swing arm mount, you need to mount it on the TV then mark where to screw the bracket on the wall so the TV is centered when retracted...it was not be the center of the opening for my mount. We also wanted it mounted as high as possible in the opening. I am going to make something out of bungie cord to secure the TV when traveling so it does not bounce around and stays in the retracted position as a safty precaution. I am pleasantly surprised at the channels we pick up with the provided antenna, just need to do a channel scan on the TV at each location we camp.

Steve, I installed a similar mount in our pod.  Ours unlocks and slips out of the wall-mount and we always remove the TV with the swing arm still attached, and store it for safe keeping on a cushion at the front of the pod.  (In our last trailer, this was on the queen bed; In the pod it is at the front of the U-shaped dinette.)  It has traveled over 6000 miles stored like that without incident.

Sorry, Jdub.  I didn't see your post that pretty well covers what I just wrote.

We put a wall mount and a 24" LCD on the wall of the wetbath of our 178. The arm allows it to be viewed from bed or the dinette. When it is flush it is not in the way at all. Our dogs pretty much occupy the dinette area so if we ever watch the TV it will likely be from bed. :)
