We purchased our brand new 2016 RP179HRE from Porter's RV in Coos Bay, OR. All the staff at Porter's were very helpful. We tow it with our 2005 Toyota 4Runner V8, and can we hardly even tell we're towing. Our previous TT was a 24' Shasta Capri, which was relatively light for a standard sized trailer, but the Rpod is so much easier to pull and park!
We spent 3 nights camping as we drove it home to Washington: 2 nights at Sunset Bay SP on the coast just outside Coos Bay, 1 night at Champoeg SP near Portland. Everything in the pod worked perfectly, and we were glad to have the Rdome, as there was a lot of rain the first day & night. Still working out where & how to best stow our stuff, and looking forward to all the shared suggestions on the forum! |

Congrats on the new R-179! Welcome to the site. You will find it useful. I bought my 179 a year ago and find it to be a very practical floor plan. This is my second pod, my first being a 171. You will want to purchase an aftermarket mattress. Happy camping and safe travel.

We picked up our new 179 2 weeks ago. Good to hear everything worked well! Our first trip is in two weeks to Huntington Beach State Park on the SC coast.
