New r-pod 171 and I am a newbie, not sure what is on but the battery will drain in about a week parked at my house. I looked for a disconnect from battery inside but did not see one. Any ideas

Add a battery cut off switch. Simple, easy, effective. There are a couple "phantom" loads that are always on.
You also can plug in at home, the pod will then keep it's battery charged on it's own. |

Furpod- does plugging in to your home restore battery charge or just preserve the charge you built from your vehicle. I am also a newbie.. The first time I plugged it into the house I heard a couple of beeps coming from inside the camper. What was that? Also while in the camper heard something cycling on and off. Fridge is not on and Water pump was not turned on. It sounded like it came from the fuse box area. Next day notice for water leaked from the faucet fixture on the counter...somehow somewhere. I have some signs of past water damage on the floor, front and center...may have found the cause. Nervous newbie. We haven't even been out in it yet. Any thoughts?

Yes whenever you plug into shore power, the converter/charger, which is under the power control center, charges the battery(ies). It's a fairly good 3 stage charger. It also charges at much higher rate then a regular charger, and your tow vehicle.
Water is often seen post pull below the faucet, because it bumps out while traveling from the faucet head. we either make sure the faucet is over the sink, or toss a hand towel under it when we travel. Your microwave beeps when it's first plugged in. We use a hardwired surge protector and line analyzer, so we here a couple clicks as it decides the 120v coming is all proper and up to snuff.. then once it energizes the camper, the microwave beeps. OH, and Welcome! Where in KS? My wife was born and raised in Abilene.. |

Thank you so much for the info! Abilene is a nice town from what I hear. I have only been to the museums and the Flint Hills drive is gorgeous. We are just down the road... Topekans (ToePickers). There are a number of lakes to explore around here and we are excited to get moving. We love Taos, NM so when we get real practiced up , we hope to meet Colorado friends there. Look us up if you come back this way. We are not too far off of I70 and have room to park
