This weekend, we had a great time in the Yucaipa / Oak Glen (apple country) area of Southern CA. We camped at Yucaipa Regional Park, a San Bernardino County facility. We were very impressed with the campsites and campground, excepting the restrooms, which were dirty when my wife went to use one when we first arrived. The sites were spacious with lots of shade (southern ring); the sites on the northern ring appeared to be more recently developed and the trees were not mature enough to provide much shade. All RV sites had full hookups. All in the south ring were ring-type pull throughs. Excellent. Some photos (apologies - I forgot my camera, so all I have are cell phone shots): Yesterday, we spent the day at Riley's Farm in Oak Glen, CA. There are a couple of dozen farms that allow fruit picking as the season permits. Several of these farms are owned by the Riley family, but Riley's Farm also has a very neat New England style colonial-era village on the premises. Every Riley's employee wears colonial-era garb and they have several activities to demostrate the ways and activities of colonial times. We started the day with a hearty breakfast that included apple oatmeal and biscuits with gravy. We then did a bit of apple picking and also picked a couple of pumpkins for the front steps at the house. Here are some shots of the farm: We left the farm shortly to get some lunch and take a ride in the local mountains. We arrived back at the farm at 4:30 pm and participated in the "Harvest Feast Supper". The evening started with a lesson in using an apple press to make cider. The kids all had a chance to operate the press and had a great time. Next was tomahawk throwing,, which looked siimpler that it was. I gave it a shot and my arm was stronger than I was prepared for, overshooting the target all 3 times. Next was nine pin bowling. After embarassing myself in the tomahawk toss, I sat out the bowling. While playing games, we were entertained by the colonial music trio: The last photo I have was as they were setting up for an apple eating contest. After that, there was not enough light for my cell phone camera: We then went inside for dinner. The restaurant had no working lights (except the bathrooms and kitchen) - everything was done by candlelight. The musicians accompanied us through the dinner that included: - Sally Lunn Bread The food was excellent! Here's a link to an MP3 sample of the music during dinner: More info on Riley's Farm here: http://www.rileysfarm.com/index_din.html We had a great time. BTW, the recent mods to the trailer (posted separately) helped greatly with set-up and use of the trailer.

No, it's a potable water hose. Made by Teknor Apex. First one I ever personally saw that wasn't white. Bought it at Walmart.
