the cover for the r pod is priced at $ 450.00 alot for such a small cover. has anyone tried any other type cover?

Northern Tool has a cover which is a little big but can be made to fit--It's what I'm using. It's for RPods up to 20 feet. Though really too big, I'm adjusting it with bungi cords and making it function. It cost's less than $100. It covers the entire vehicle. My rpod is under some big pine trees that drip sap so I need to keep it covered when not in use.
