We had our maiden voyage this week.  I was apprehensive about emptying the black water tank for the first time.  Some one told me just before I emptied it that we should get one of the clear connections with the hose attachment to back flush once the tank emptied.  I found a clear connection but it did not have the hose attachment at the park's store.  I'm so glad I did as it took filling the tank an additional 3 Times (it was 2/3's full when I first emptied it as stated in the manual that came with the unit) before the water was clear and there no more toilet paper, etc.  I also used a wand that sprays sideways through the toilet, I'm not sure how much it helped.

I was wondering that since the toilet uses such a small amount of water for each flush, it we should fill the toilet with more water each time toilet paper and solid waste is flushed.

I'd applicate any tips on this area as we were in a full hook-up area and I'm not sure we would have the time it took to go through this procedure at a dump station.

One other comment, we bought a 4" memory and other foam mattress that has a mattress fitting cover (bought at Kohl's).  It sleeps as well as our bed at home.

After you empty the tank, black or gray, you should put some water in it.  Just enough to cover the bottom of the tank.  You don't need to flush until the water is clean, only until there is no more solids.  Another thing is to use RV toilet paper or something else that is single ply.  It breaks down faster.

If you want to test a certain brand of paper put a couple of sheets in a quart jar and fill about 1/2 way with water.  Then shake the "H" out of it.  If the paper breaks down your good to go.  If not, don't use it.

Another thing I used to do with the motor home was to add septic tank enzymes to the holding tanks.  It helps break down waste faster and lowers fumes.

Thanks for the information.   We've been using RV toilet paper, I going to try using more water this week when we try out our unit for the second time down at the Peace River Camp near Wachula, Florida.  I'm also going to try my bike rack.

Wauchula is way south of Saint Augustine but if you come up the First Coast (east coast) I would like to meet you!  Where are you from?
