I've noticed some people have named their Pods. Tink's sister has named her T@B. Let's see what each of you call your very own Pod. Be creative, have fun. I'm still thinking of mine . . . . .

As the boat we used to own was named Sandpiper (hence Carroll's screen name) I think we should call it Piper-pod, sort of in memory of the boat. He's not crazy about naming it, but guess I can still call it that.

Mine's called the Johnnie Ray, ostensibly named after the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Ray - 50's singer who's mentioned in the opening lines of Dexy's Midnight Runners' song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc-P8oDuS0Q&feature=related - Come On Eileen , but in reality named after the cruiser (which was named after the aforementioned singer) in Eric Idle's novel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Road_to_Mars - The Road to Mars .
Just this past weekend, I ordered vinyl lettering for the side of the r-pod

I just can't decide...I am sure a name will come to us. Part of the difficulty is that we picked her up, camped in her for 1 day...drove home...she then sat in the driveway for 7 days while it was pouring rain...and then we had her winterized and she is inside in storage until spring.
I think we need "Pod" in the name....Ted doesn't think so...
I think the name should be short and sweet....2 syllables at most...Ted is coming up with really long names...
I want something that rolls off the tongue....
still thinking....

I'm still working on a name. The only thing I've ever called it other than simply "Pod" is the pod hole. Now some might think that doesn't sound too nice but being inside the Pod is so cozy it reminds me of a cave. A very nice, well appointed, comfortable cave with windows. A haven, a refuge if you will. So, while another name may come to me in future, for now I will think of my lonely little Pod up in Florida as my Pod Hole.

Thanks for noticing GrandPod !!!
I even ordered & have received Emblem Stickers (Apollo) from NASA
that I was hoping to decorate the Pod with !
But as these things go, alas, I don't believe Pie_Pod is subscribing
to the title. Oh well, I'm still planning on placing the decals on it anyway.
I can justify the decals by explaining to others that we hope to be the first
Pod in space, or at least the Space-Station. I wonder if they have 30amp
service there ??? Better look into some Solar Panels, huh ?
MOON-POD is catchy, but I fear I'm fighting a losing battle.

We were thinking or naming ours for our dog Toby so I know what you mean. Tobespod. But it would make me sad because just now he is living with us in Costa Rica and won't be coming up. He would be ecstatic to go camping with us. If you've ever seen a dog run just for the pure joy of running that's our Toby.

Ive just noticed that WE2 has done up an avatar ... Look'n Great !!! Lil B'ger... Very Kewl !!
Actually in the beginning I planned on incorporating just a name into an r-Pod picture just as WE2 has done. But as usual, got carried away.

What talent this site has. A person cannot list them all from illustrators to just about anything you could think of. What a great group of podders we have. I still think about the bird house.

There are truely some Great people here cane2 !!
these pictures I make are no more than layering existing pictures.
Some of the "Real" talent is displayed in the "MODS" thread.
From:
Awnings to Air Flow
Interior Curtains(&decor) to Cabinets
Kitchen to Climate Control
Plug Ins to Power
Storage to Spare Tire
Toliet Paper to Tow Vehicle
Organizing to Stabilizing
Let's not forget Food to Roundups !!!
Heck, there's even an amazing r-Pod Birdhouse thrown in for good measure.
This is where the actual "Designer/Hand-Made" (Art) comes out.
Even if we didn't own a Pod, this would still be a kewl place to hang-out/check-in/keep in-touch. Alot of good "stuff" goes on here.
