After leaving my dog in the Rpod for a couple hours, I returned to discover our window blinds ruined by the dog.  Is there a simple way to remove them or replace them?  Please let me know if you have done so and how.

Thanks.

I feel your pain. We had a Brittany who had her brain in sideways that did that  many years ago when we had a pickup camper.

Sorry to hear about the dog-busyness...I've often wondered what mine would do if left alone in the Podcaster Shocked.  I did think about removing the blinds last month, but just added a tension rod and some light blocking curtains on sale from Kmart instead.  They fit behind the little plastic turny thingy dingy and in front of the blinds when the blinds are all the way up.  It looks as though you have to remove the window topper and the screws were at such a weird angle...so I didn't do it.  And if we ever trade up I would want the pod to be in as original condition as possible...but that's just me.

I took out my blinds they are attached at the bottom with little plastic things that just unscrew and at the top there is a metal release slide that attaches to the valance with a little effort you can reach it and release the blinds. I then used small tension rods inside the valance to hold curtains that i made from a light blocking curtain. It wasn't that hard to do. good luck and sorry about your mishap.

We did the same. Removed the blinds/holder thingys, and valances by just unscrewing. Check out the Mods for ideas about dressing up the windows they way ya like.

Stuff happens .... just take a breath and move on ....

When we traded in Astro the mods we did didnt seem to effect the value. We got a very, very good trade-in allowance for it. Which I hope is "good" news for all Podders, in a way.

You don't have to unscrew anything.  There are two metal clips that unlock the blind from the hold, flat head screwdriver to open them up and the blinds fall out.  You have to look up under the valance to see them.

I left the holder in place and used tension rods from my curtains.

We also took out the blinds and put up curtains with no plans of ever putting them back.  If you want the two that we have just send me a private message and we will figure out how to get them to you. Smile

Hi Butterflyand Other Podders,

I would be interested in 1 set of blinds as I have a bent set  which I would like to replace.  This set came bent with my purchase of my new 2011 R-pod 171.  I do not think that they are under warranty.  They would replace the set along the door entrance.  I can be reached at (315) 714-2159.

Thanks,
Dockguy

I would think they would be under warranty. It's a brand new r-pod and they should be like new also. Have you checked with your dealer to see if they could replace them under warranty? I would definitely do that.

Hey Tink,

Thanks for the input.  I was going to call my dealer tomorrow to see if the blinds are under warranty.  I'll let everyone know what I find out from the dealers or/ Forest River on Monday.

Take Care,
Dockguy
