Will you be able to make another map like you did for the Ft. Boonesboro rally?  The visual presentation was awesome.  I know you're real busy at work right now, so maybe later as your schedule allows. . .

It looks like this year the Roundup will interfere with a Flyball tournament we go to in York, PA.  If for some reason things change, as they did last year, you can count us in.  However, my Rpod is starting to get ready from its idle state and will get busy starting in November.  I have multiple trips planned over the next 8 months (mainly flyball tournaments, but 1 to Disney's Fort Wilderness).

Groves is in the southeast corner of Texas, near the Gulf and Louisiana border.  Approximately 1000 miles from Lexington, KY.  Big smile  If I drive from Interstate 10 from Orange to El Paso it is only about 900 miles so this trip is only a little further than Texas is wide. LOL  Actually, Lee lives further south and farther away than us.  If she attends again then she will be driving farther.  Also, Yakdriver lives near Houston so if he decides to go he too will live farther away than us.

Well I found out we can make it that weekend!! I just called and Rashell or Christy are not in today.  The guy I talked to said Loop C isn't blocked out and we would have to pay now instead of when we get there.  I think I'll call back when Rashell or Christy are in the office.  I was shooting to get site 171.    He also wanted to charge us the $27 per day instead of $24.30.  I'll let you guys know what happens when I call back, he said they won't be back in the office until Monday.  Disapprove

Hi Kim,
I am one of the organizers of the 2011 Rally.  I will be the contact person for the Horse Park.  I called them and spoke to a gentleman there.  He says that his boss has informed him that the sites ARE blocked for us and there should be no problem with you reserving.  Rachelle, one of the managers, will be in on Friday according to their schedule there.  Call on Friday and try to reserve.  If you or anyone else has a problem, please message me and I will check on it for you.
Keep on Podding. Big smile

When choosing a site you might want to look back to the third post on this topic.  There were a few sites that were already booked before they blocked them off for us.  Mary has the numbers that were available to us listed on page one of this thread.   Glad to see more people signing up!!!  I'm so excited already, will be hard to wait for next June.

I am NOT impressed with the admin at this venue.
I rang them 3 times yesterday, a male answered, and told me he thought Rachelle would be in later, and that he couldn't help me book a space as "Rachelle deals with all group bookings". He asked me to leave my contact numbers, which I did.
On my third call, a different male told me Rachelle was not in that day, and would be in on Friday, and he couldn't book me a place either, but not to worry as the spaces were all blocked for r-podders.
I rang this morning at 0820, and spoke to Rachelle. I asked her if I could book a space for the r-pod round-up next June. She told me she would have to take my number and get back to me. When I asked her if it would be this morning (because we are leaving at noon to go off for our last trip this year in the Nerd Pod) she said "I cannot lie to you - probably NOT - I have a million things to do".

I am NOT impressed - perhaps they can shove this up one of their famous race-horse's ars-es.

There are probably other sites who would like our business on these dates.

Robert,

I am sorry that you are having difficulty booking your site.  They have college students who man the desk when the managers are not there.  They do seem to have little knowledge of what is going on.  I can tell you that this weekend is their BIG Halloween event that they do every year.  The campground is full.  They are having bands, etc. there this weekend. I am sure that she is overwhelmed because the other manager is out on sick leave.
Mary has asked me to be the contact person for the campground.  I have placed a call to Rachelle and if she does not get back to me, I will get in touch with her some way.
After this week, things will calm down at the campground.  I will let you know what I find out.

Called the camp today and also had trouble speaking to anyone who could help but will try again next week.  We want site #205 (looks like some shade). Cool
We enjoyed this year's roundup and look forward to seeing all of you again next year with the addition of new faces.  This park is exactly 100 miles from our new house so we will not be coming the furthest next year! (Unless we are not moved by then Ermm)
Are there hiking/walking trails there?  I didn't see anything on the website except horse stuff and we're not horse people.  Course there is the pleasure of your wonderful company . . . .

I just spoke to Christy at the Horse Park.  They are now holding the sites an extra day for us.  You can arrive on Thursday June 23 and depart on Monday June 27th with no reservation fee.  You can change the dates within that time frame without penalty.  If you want to arrive on an earlier date or stay an extra day, you will need to pay the reservation fee and use your credit card to make your reservation.  Sites 163, 164, 199, 200 and 201 are already booked on Sunday night so are not available.  Hope this clarifies everything.  If you booked site 169, please let us know who you are.

Thanks Sandpiper for keeping us up to date.  I don't think we had this many signed up at this time last year, did we?  Remember I thought we would only have about 5 Pods show up and you said around 30!!!  Well, you were a little under but very close.  I am getting excited to see all the people who came to the Kentucky and Ohio rallies this summer and also many new Podders.
The Kentucky Horse Park area is one of the most beautiful areas in the country.  SEE YOU IN JUNE. Big smile

By the way, I think (but not sure) that the Roundup has been extended one more day.  The dates would be June 23-27.  There are several who are leaving on the 27th. Check with Raschelle or Christy when you reserve.

Thank you Mary for the information.

I think you said that we have 16 registered at this point.  Last year on November 8, 2009, we had three Pods registered.  I really feel that we are going to have a very successful rally in 2011.  Although we have the sites blocked out for us, some of them are much better sites than others.

I have been asked to elaborate on my statement that "some sites are better than others".  Loop C seemed to be the best one for our needs considering that we thought we would have up to 50 Pods by June.  Some of the sites have little or no shade.  The loop that we chose had the most level sites per loop.

We have reserved site 155.  We are the couple that attended the 2010 Round-Up...without
our new R-Pod.....it was to be delivered the next week.  We live in Lexington. Visited the Horsepark Camp Ground yesterday and it is great! There is a new paved trail, Legacy Trail (a gift from the World Equestrian Games) that starts at the camp ground - 8 lovely miles for walking or biking. Fantastic trail. Thumbs Up  Bring your bikes or walking shoes and plan to use it. There is so much to see and do in and around Lexington.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you and enjoying the 4 days in the Bluegrass.

Hi Pat and Terry,
It is great to hear that you have reserved a spot.  As you know, we live in one of the most beautiful places in the USA.  Do you have any pictures of the area in and around the campground that you could post?  I would love for the members of the Nation to see what a beautiful place it is.
Did you get to camp any this summer?  I hope so.
See you in June 2011.

We still have sites available.  They are:
145-149
152
156-160
164
170
181-194
200
201
203
204

You can call Christy or Raschell at 800-370-6416.  We'll be there June 23 - leaving on the 27th. You can stay as long as your schedule allows.  There is lots of fun and lots of good company.  We had a wonderful time last June at Ft. Boonesboo and seriously look foward to seeing our pod friends again.  You can book your stay with no money up front and pay upon arrival, but remember to ask for Christy or Raschell.  Be sure to let us know you're coming.

Winter is coming and our thoughts turn to June and our next round up.  We had such a great time last year and are excited about seeing everyone again this coming summer.  What a sight to see all those Pods (and Pod friends) gathered in one setting!  Plus we learned a lot about mods and things from each other.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

The area around the Horse Park is beautiful at this time of year.  We drove by there yesterday.  I tried to get Coach to come home and get the Pod.  We have been having upper 60s as our weather and will continue until tomorrow night.  Then winter is here!!!!!! ugh   We are expecting extremely high winds since the cold and warm fronts seem to meet over Central Kentucky.
Oh well.  I guess my camping will just have to wait until Spring. Big smile

Are you going to be living in KY before the Round-Up?  I am anxious to see you again.  This year is flying by.  We're in Floida right now with very warm temps and expecting cooler weather to arrive tomorrow.  Now is a good time for everyone to plan for next June . . . won't even dip into Christmas money.  Make the call to the park and pay when you arrive.  I like that a lot.  I hate giving out my credit card info over the phone.

Our signs were made by Sandpiper (Carroll) for the very first R Pod Roundup.  He is a valued member of the organizing committee. He and Mrs. Piper spent many hours making the signs.  We treasure ours.  I don't think that there are any plans to make them for future Roundups.

Yes, thanks to Mrs. Sandpiper, Pepper Pod and Coach Pod too.  You all did a wonderful job.

ProfmagicKb, glad you're coming.  We also love our sign from the KY Round-Up.  Carroll & Anne did a great job making them and did a lot of last minute changes as folks cancelled, changed sites and additional folks decided to come.  It had to be very difficult.  I remember that Coach brought the stakes too.  We were and are still very pleased.

GARedneck81,
If you go to Reserveamerica.com, you can see the sites and the lay of the land.  They look pretty level to me.
Rosemary and Tedd could probably add their thoughts to this subject since they have stayed camped there before.

You are in for a rude awakening when you go on your cross country trip unless you plan on staying in Wally World parking lots.  $24.50 is inexpensive for a nights stay anywhere except tax subsidized parks, Wally World parking lots, Flying J parking lots and road side rest areas.

Phil...glad you are on the way to Lexington in 2011. We hope you have more RPOD birdhouses along with you. Count me 1st in line for your great looking birdhouses.   Today (12-17)  in Lexington the city is covered in a sheet of ice. All area schools closed.  I had to de-ice all the feeders in our yard. We get many cardinals and many small birds.  I know the birds in our areaare anxious to add a genuine RPOD birdhouse to the feeding area!
