Purchased 2012 RPod177 Hood River Edition late Jan. on first outing discovered Micro-convection didn't work, front decals began peeling and gas regulator was faulty. Other than that a pretty good trip to the coast. Still waiting for FR to send parts. Any others have troubles with new RPod?

Everybody has had some issue or other. Don't let it get you into a wad, just enjoy your new baby. Just use it and try to find everything that's wrong before the warranty runs out. Mine was in the shop more than it was out camping the first summer, and now I don't have issues unless it's my fault.

Anyway, welcome. You are going to love your Pod!!!

My fridge crapped out pretty much immediately. Had to contact a repairman (dealer too far away), for warranty work. Dometic took pretty much forever to send the repair parts - well, over a month as I recall.

As Tink says, though, this is all part of the deal with these little trailers - working the bugs out. Hang in there, we've all been through it to one degree or another.

We have been very fortunate.  Purchased our 2011  model 177 in January of 2011.  Took her home in March during a snowstorm- good practice driving in the UP of Michigan.  Have had zero problems with the exception - self induced- of frying the heating element in the hot water heater.  Can't blame FR for my own stupidity.  We have enjoyed our unit a lot, taking her from Michigan to Montana last fall as well as some local spots during the summer in northern lower Michigan as well as in the UP of Michigan - it has performed beyond our expectations.  Enjoy !

Thank you all for your kind postings. I appreciate all of the feedback and look at this as part of the whole RV experience. Having moved up from backpacking and tent camping, I have a lot to learn and consider myself lucky to have a mobile roof over my head.

We have a brand new 2012 R Pod 177 and love it.  We too, have just moved up from tent camping for many years.

The front decals began peeling right away. Can they be glued back on?
Thanks.

I have a 2010 R-Pod 171 and my Convection Microwave went out last year; Forrest River gave me a list of acceptable RV repair shops in my area and I went to one of them. They ordered a new convection microwave from Forrest River and installed it. I paid nothing as the warranty covered parts, labor, and shipping costs of the new appliance. My microwave has worked very well since being replaced.

I tried to glue them back on using silicone. Not sure how long that would last, so am having them replaced under warranty.

We had the decals on the front of our 177 removed while it was in the dealer getting de-winterized.  I have heard from several sources that new decals will just peal off again. We like the way it looks with no decals on the front.

Same deal, I has the microwave go out under warranty. My dealer pulled one out of another 177 so I didn't have to wait on parts.

Hi kmcmurph,
Thank you for your reply. It's nice to hear others have had the same problem, though it's too bad Forest River hasn't opted for a more reliable Microwave.

Larry K,
Thanks for your reply. I can see where the front would look better without the decals. We'll see what happens. If the problem happens again I may do the same.

Don't feel too bad about anything you've had to have replaced under warranty.  I think most of our Pod is new by now.

The microwave was replaced for a faulty door, the fridge was replaced because it wouldn't cool, the portable grill in the garage was replaced because it wouldn't get hot, one decal was replaced because it cracked and split apart and lastly the fantastic fan in the bathroom was replaced because it would go on and off on it's own.  ConfusedConfused

Still love the Pod, and so far, knock on wood, all of the replacement  pieces, controls, and units have all worked perfectly.

That's not to say that the strange noise my water heater makes hasn't gotten some attention from me lately though!  LOLLOL

Thanks for putting things into perspective. Am looking forward to getting the pod back from the shop soon, been there for almost a month. After all, summer is coming.

I could go on and on, but I won't.  Just search the posts for my issues.  The biggest being having most of my windows replaced and the AC fan kit going.  At the time, the rig was brand new and the AC issue only after a couple years.

We just bought our 2012 HR Edition less than a month ago. On the first outing our tire blew out (less than 50 miles). On our second attempt, the studs broke and our wheel came flying off (less than 100 miles on it total). I see a lot of great experiences on this website and wish ours could be the same. Also, FR hasn't really responded very well. Nothing bad yet but slow given the situation. I am not feeling very good about our purchase right now.

You would think if a thorough Pre-delivery inspection was done on theses trailers fewer warranty issues would be left for purchasers to deal with. Anyway, once my warranty issues were corrected(2 months), things have been stable. Getting parts from FR seemed to be the big issue. Good luck, it's a good trailer once the bugs are worked out.
