SWMBO and I will be staying in Marathon for a bit this March, and would like to rent bikes while we're there. Near as I can tell, it's about 5 miles from Jolly Roger CG to the start of the bike path, which must be new since last time we were there. It also looks like there's more divided highway too.

There's a rental place in Marathon that will deliver and pick up, and furnishes helmets, baskets, and bike locks for $45/week. But is it realistic to stray from the bike path? I know traffic can get crazy, but we'd like to use the bikes for exercise, exploring, geocaching, and quick supply runs and leave the Jeep when at all possible.
