Hi, just bought a 2014 R POD 179 & I'm having an issue with my fridge. I was setting up for our maiden voyage & had the fridge on AC power. After about an hour I opened it to see how it was cooling I then pressed the temp adjust button & my display turned off. Now I can't get it to turn on at all. I checked the breaker, the 12v fuse, & made sure the ac outlet into the back was getting power & I used my multimeter to confirm that 12v was getting to the terminal block in back of fridge aswell. Not sure what else to do. Any ideas? Thanks

Do you have 12v? The brains run on 12v. Also, if it has 12v, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, it isn't instant on off. If that doesn't bring it up, pull the fuse and unplug it to reset the system.

1 more quick note, checking after an hour to see if it's cooling is useless, it takes a day or so to cool down all the way.

Thanks for the reply. I pulled the fuse to try to reset it & also tried holding the power button down for 5 seconds along with many other time frames & combos with the other buttons . When I was setting up the night before I left the fridge seemed to be acting normal. I opened it & felt it somewhat cool, when I attempted to adjust the temp button the display suddenly went dark & I was never able to regain function. 12 volts flowing to terminal block. Is there some kind of reset or fuse on the fridge itself? I almost feel like the circuit board failed. Is that possible?

It is possible that the circuit board failed, it has happened. Not knowing your warranty status, I can only say if you have one in effect, use it.. ;)

I do have a warranty with $100 deductible. After researching the price of a replacement circuit board approx $300-$400. I am swallowing my DIY pride & making a service appointment. I will update the forum after they take a look at it just incase someone else can benifit from it. Thank you for your help

Good luck... I know the feeling, I HATE it when I have to pay someone else to fix my stuff.. but sometimes, it has to be done.

Ok, I finally got my R-pod back it ended up being 2 components. The "eyebrow board" which is the control panel on the front & the "lower control board" which is the bottom of 3 different control boards on the back of the fridge. Apparently this is a common issue with this model dometic fridge & the 2 replacement parts are sold as a pair. Hopefully they fixed the problem on the new parts & this won't be an ongoing issue for me. In case some else runs into this same problem, the "eyebrow board" was priced $49 & the "lower control board" was priced $125.99 on my invoice. Happy Travels!

Glad it got fixed, hate that it happened.. We have had a few fridge boards go bad over the years,  but not to such a number that I think it's a regular thing. So hopefully, never an issue again..

Pod on.

Try asking this Amazon seller if this would work for you. It's a long shot, but its worth trying. Good luck
