I have a new 179 that I have used once, getting ready to use for real this summer. Has anyone found an acceptable awning that will work with an R-Pod? I don't want a dome. I would like something like the roll up awning on my old pop up if possible. I am happy to modify or fabricate for installation. Just curious if anyone has found an awning that can be used on an r-pod and successfully tested it... Thanks!

We are not DIYers so we had a custom awning made.  It does not roll up but does fit in the awning rail on our 179.  We live in the mountains near Denver so we used Acme Tent and Canvas.  Details are:
 - Super light Acrylic awning fabric
 - 10' wide, 8' deep
 - Extra middle grommet if we need a third support
 - Two adjustable 8' support poles
 - 4 Heavy duty stakes
 - 6 guy ropes (Extra for a possible third support pole if we need it)

The awning rail on the 179 is quite high so we have a small step ladder to put it up.
Goes up in less then 15 minutes.

How is the fabric attached to the rail? Is it canvas?
