I was looking on another web site and they suggested a sway bar for the RPOD 179.  In the past we have done weekend trips so wind and trailer swaying have not been an issue. This year we may head out west. Is a sway bar needed and if so any recommendations would be appreciated.

I use a friction sway bar, towing with a Chevy Silverado 4X4.  6000 pound capacity.  Some folks swear by WDH, some use nothing.  I'm comfortable with friction sway alone.  I have a 178.  Amazon, etrailer, Camping World even eBAY has them, some drilling required.

Greetings from the cold north
It again depends on the wheelbase and weight of your tow vehicle.  I"ve been out west towing my 179 with my F-150 with a 8 foot bed and had no problems.  If it makes you feel more comfortable towing, buy one and use it
