My Wife and I traded in our Rpod 173T on Saturday for ACE 29.2 from Thor Motor Coach. It is a MAJOR upgrade from the Rpod. As my daughter gets older, we just needed more room. When it rains, there just was not enough room for us to be comfortable. There was no room to put the wet stuff.
With the two dogs, it just started to become too crowded. We loved our Rpod and I will miss it. Without we would never have been able to know what it was like to camp. We definitely would never have met some of the people on this board and the people that we have met at the two round ups that we have been to. Other than Disney those are the only times we have truly camped, not gone to a dog event. I would still love to camp with Rpodders in the future. For us it will be a lot easier and simpler to camp now. Forest River was great in their support, especially at the Roundups. Thank You Forest River and the Rpod group for helping me to get into camping. I am sorry that I do not own a Forest River product anymore. jon |

I also love my rpod very much
and have used it extensively but this December I will be trading it in for a 5th
wheel trailer as I am ready to go full-time RVing. As a retired person I now go
camping in my rpod 2-weeks every month, and have been doing such since
purchasing my rpod in January of 2010. It has been a great experience for me. I retired from the U.S. Army
where I frequently slept on the ground in pup tents, or just with a poncho over
me, so when I started camping as a civilian I did so in a van, which was a step
up, and then later got a popup tent trailer, which was even nicer than a van.
From there I purchased the rpod which is luxury compared to sleeping on the
ground. But I’m now ready to get a bigger house-on-wheels in the form of a 5th
wheel. I’m waiting until December berceuse
I’ll also need to purchase a new tow vehicle and can get a better deal at the
end of the year. The housing market has soured me on owning a home so I plan to
sell my house, downsize my household goods; pick 6 places every year that I’d
like to visit and spend two months at each place starting in 2013. I’ve also enjoyed this rpod forum
and have learned a lot from reading all of the posts here. I have absolutely no
regrets buying and rpod and have made some great memories camping in it. |
